This moment was filmed right at the height of the chum migration with 58,493 salmon recorded returning to the Nanaimo River to spawn this season. ![]()
As the spawning season winds down, we’re holding deep pride in seeing our salmon strong, healthy, and thriving. Year after year, the chum continue to return in greater numbers, reminding us of their resilience and strength.
