Wesley sworn in as SFN Chief

A new Chief of Snuneymuxw First Nation has been sworn in.

John Wesley officially took over as Chief of Snuneymuxw following a swearing in ceremony Monday at the SFN administration building.

Wesley, who previously served as SFN Chief and councilor, says he didn't think he'd ever get the chance to be Chief again after battling cancer last year.

He says last year was a real hard year for him health wise but now he's on the mend, is ready for the job and is looking forward to helping everybody with an open door policy.

Wesley defeated incumbent Doug White by just 13 votes in a December 7th election.

Five councilors were also elected, with Erralyn Thomas the only newcomer.
