Youth Worker – 2 Positions

Job Description: 

On-Call

October, 2014 - May 29, 2015

 

 

Under the direction of the Education Coordinator the Youth Worker will help implement and supervise recreation activities and intervention programs for the Snuneymuxw First Nation Youth Program.

 

Responsibilities:

Engages with 3-11 children daily (art, outside play, computers, cooking etc.).
Follows weekly youth calendar for events.
Ensures safety of children and report any incidents  promptly.
Provides support, guidance and direction while promoting anti- bullying.
Creates activities for all youth.
Follows Youth Centre Protocols including completion of related forms.
Ensures areas are clean and safe for children.
Assist with event planning, as required.

 

Education and Qualification requirements:

Currently attending high school or graduated grade 12.
Experience working with children and youth, and as part of a team.
Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
Available during the weekdays and including some weekends.
Class 5 Drivers License is an asset.
