Job Responsibilities: 
  • Reporting to the Food Services Manager the Cook is responsible for the daily preparation of all foods from an assigned menu, ensures safe food handling methods are followed, maintenance of a safe & sanitary workplace and inventory control
  • Responsible for ensuring all food and supplies are on hand for menu coverage
  • Responsible to ensure that all cost and statistical controls are completed in a timely manner
  • One year experience in working in responsible team position with indirect supervision, cooking, purchasing food supplies and instructing other cooks
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • One year completed certificate of cooking course or higher by an accredited institution
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ensure portioning guidelines are being followed and leftovers are being used to help reduce costs
  • To follow Food Safety as laid out by Food Services Manager
  • To ensure all Customer and Staff service is followed as laid out by Supervisor
  • To ensure all Cost Control is strictly adhered to as laid out by Supervisor
  • Willing to work evenings and Weekends
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Other duties as required
Desired Experience: 
  • We are looking for an experienced cook with previous experience in high volume cooking, someone with good time management skills, creativity and good problem solving abilities
  • Previous experience in a health care environment will be considered an asset
  • The ideal candidate is someone with a positive and respectful attitude and who is a team player
  • As well we require someone who has a strong work ethic and who is reliable and punctual
  • Food Safe 1 Certificate
  • Able to communicate with managers, clients, and other employees
