Chris’ feels very fortunate to be able to have learnt traditional fishing areas and hunting from his Dad and numerous Uncles and Elders in the community. A firm believer in team work, Chris is dedicated to working to preserve, respect, and honour all that has been left by the Ancestors.

Chris currently works with the Snuneymuxw First Nation as the Land & Resource Coordinator, after completing a two year university certification program, studying Reserve Land and Professional Land Management Certification.  Chris is a proud Snuneymuxw member dedicated to ensuring the Land and Resources of the Nation are healthy and protected , also providing access to the abundant traditional and natural resources.

Chris is very involved in most of the consultations with the City of Nanaimo, Regional District of Nanaimo as well as Provincial and Federal government for the Nation along with Douglas Treaty Implementation initiatives.

Chris’ belief is that we as people have strived to protect our culture and teachings but also see the need to develop our Nation to the capacity in which we all deserve, find the balance between the western ways of life while protecting ours.
