QQS Updates Jan 2018
Dear Snuneymuxw Mustimuxw, Parents, Guardians, Friends & Family,
It has been a busy month getting back into the swing of things after a busy Christmas time! We have been working very hard at QQS to ensure that all of our students are receiving the best learning experience. We are trying our best to have all of our students are trying their best to strive for the best in all of their subjects. All of our Staff here are always thinking of ways that we can enhance the learning opportunities here at QQS!
At this time I would like to welcome Ms. Wilson to our QQS team! She is our new Kindergarten Teacher! Please read her “welcome” letter and learn more about Ms. Wilson!
Bex’s Preschool class and Ms. Wilson’s Kindergarten are going to be doing collaboration cooking classes every Friday. Last Friday we had our beloved elder Lolly Good in and she assisted our classes with making indian tacos! Every student in our school had an opportunity to make their own fried bread. All of our students worked together to cook the meat, grade the cheese, cut the lettuce, etc. This cooking time gives us a chance to learn our Hul’quimin’um language, our traditional teaching and enjoy the company of each other while we share a meal. We are going to continue doing our “Friday Cooking Day” for the remainder of the school year!
