QQS Updates April 2017
Dear Snuneymuxw Mustimuxw,
It is great to have spring in the air! We have been having some pretty nice days lately. It has been nice to get right back into the swing of things after we had a nice long two week Spring Break!
In April we were happy that our students participated in “Earth Day” on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 by cleaning up our Snuneymuxw First Nation neighbourhood! I am proud of our children taking a hand in keeping our neighbourhood clean and tidy!
Our staff participated in the Annual First Nations Schools Association Conference on Education in Vancouver on April 21st & 22nd, 2017. There was much learned that day! We are happy that our staff had the opportunity to learn the best practices in our field.
Our Grade 2/3 Teacher Lisa Rodgers has started a “Play & Learn Club” which runs after school from Tuesday to Friday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Students are required to pre-register for this program. So far we have 28 students registered in this AWESOME program! We are happy to have an afterschool program running at QQS!
Please note that we do have our Canadian Achievement Testing (CAT) happening in starting on Monday, May 8th, 2017. Please make sure that your child is here for the week that we are doing this very important testing process.
Attendance is still a very important part of your child’s learning! Here at QQS we need every child in their seat so that we can teach them the curriculum for their grade. So please make every effort to have your child here daily.
We are making every effort to make our school the BEST learning environment for your child. We look to the future and try to make the FUTURE BRIGHTER for all of our students here at QQS!
Huy’ch’qa, (Thank You)
