National Aboriginal Day 2015
This years National Aboriginal Day was celebrated at Diana Krall Plaza this year in conjunction with Kwumut Lelum, Inter-Tribal Health, and The Queens.
Once the SFN flag was raised at City Hall, emcee, Emmy Manson, and guests joined in the Celebration with opening words from Chief Wesley and Mayor McKay.
Attendees enjoyed performances from the Foot Print of the Wolf, Bayview Shawl Dance Group (Linda Erminskin), DJ Rob Viking, David Gogo, The New Addiction, Alpha Omega, and cultural stories by Celestine Aleck.
SFN artist Willy Good was on hand to promote Ay Ay Mut exhibit that can be seen at the Nanaimo Museum. He has an assortment of carvings, clothing and accessories on for sale at the Nanaimo Museum. The salmon BBQ was enjoyed was enjoyed by many.
