School Community Meeting - Becoming Sustainable: Facilities Plan Update

Date and Time:
Mon. Oct. 26/15 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM

Snuneymuxw First Nation Community Meeting

Monday, October 26th, 2015

5:00pm – 7:00pm

Location: Chief and Council Chambers

CONSULTATION PROCESS:

The Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools Board of Education is currently engaged in a 60 day community consultation process to receive input from the public on proposed changes to facilities and programs within Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools.

The Becoming Sustainable plan, which proposes school closures and consolidation, will allow the district to reduce annual operating costs, reduce future capital expenses, and identify capital assets for future consideration.  In doing so, the proposed plan will enable the district’s limited resources to be better directed towards student learning.

The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the Becoming Sustainable plan with members of the Snuneymuxw community.  School district representatives will share information and offer opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas.

If you have any questions, please contact Anne Tenning, Vice Principal of Aboriginal Education, at anne.tenning@sd68.bc.ca or 250-713-2409.

We hope you will join the conversation!
