Shared Traditional Territory

Our nation has been seriously impacted by land-use decisions made by other jurisdictions. Parts of our reserves have been expropriated in the past to meet the land use requirements of non-Snuneymuxw. Several mills, cement works, recycling plants and other industrial businesses, presently surround our reserves. In addition Snuneymuxw burial sites and other cultural resources have not been considered in land-use decisions. We believe that future land use decisions must balance the needs of all communities including Snuneymuxw.
