And the countdown to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics is on! October 22, 2009 the 2010 Vancouver Olympic flame was lit in Olympia, Greece. The flame will stay in Greece for another week and then come to Canada to begin it amazing 106-day journey across the country.
And now that the Torch Relay route has been officially announced at www.vancouver2010.com we can show everyone the route on our reserve so you can start picking out your favourite viewing spot!

Two of our community members were official Olympic Torchbearers!

Jessica White was chosen because of her involvement in sports, she is a positive role model in the community and does very well in school. We are very proud to have Jessica as our Community Torchbearer. She will be running from Tuytaxun Store to the band office for the Blessing Ceremony.
Dylan Paul-Seward will also be a torchbearer in our community. We were surprised to hear the news and we are still learning how he was chosen, but we are all very proud and excited to have Dylan running the Olympic flame from the Blessing Ceremony, along Centre Street and up Needham street.

The Celebration was a great success!
